Spring Pilates is dedicated to making the Pilates Method accessible to everyone in our community at all ages and all fitness levels – from children to seniors, from those who have never exercised to seasoned athletes, and from people who are unrestricted in movement to those who have special conditions. Every teacher and staff member at Spring Pilates Studio has a strategic importance in fulfilling this goal.
“Everyone can and should have, to a certain and sufficient extent, control of their own physical system.”
~ Joseph Hubertus Pilates
Pilates is a mind and body conditioning exercise program that targets the deep postural muscles of the abdomen and spine so that all movement is initiated and supported by the core. This improves core-strength and stability. A repertoire of hundreds of exercises is performed systematically on mat and spring-based apparatus, imprinting movement that strengthens all muscles and enables efficient functioning without injury. It creates a leaner appearance, balances muscle-specific sports, increases flexibility, improves posture and engages the mind for a feeling of well-being and rejuvenation.
Pilates is particularly beneficial for those with back pain, poor posture, neurological conditions, sports injuries, arthritis, stress-related illness and before and after pregnancy. In addition to the traditional programs of Pilates body-conditioning, we offer Pilates classes for those with Parkinson’s Disease, Pilates “Prehab” for clients preparing for surgery, pre- and post-natal Pilates workouts, and Pilates modified for various back problems.
